WORSHIP AND DEVOTIONAL STUDY BIBLE (THE CDWS BIBLE)
The Psalms of Nations highlights excerpts from the national anthem and pledges of many nations of the earth which could easily be appended to the book of Psalms. Certainly, God’s involvement in nations over the centuries has been no secret; from the annals of Israel, the theocracy God created, to Egypt whom He humbled in the days of Moses, to Fiji a modern day miracle and beyond, the vivid tales are portrayed.
In Isaiah 44:28, God refers to Cyrus the king of Persia as His shepherd and also in chapter 45:1 He again called him His anointed whose hand He held to subdue nations. Interestingly also, in the book of Ezra 1:2 Cyrus himself made a startling declaration, “All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord has given me and He has ‘commanded’ me to build a house at Jerusalem which is in Judah.”
The Bible describes God as the creator of all nations, the Lord of the nations, the ruler of the nations, the King of kings, the one who appoints rulers, the Redeemer of the nations and the one to whom all nations will come to worship. READ MORE
